IBIZA JUNIOR RUGBY CUP - U18s, U16s

On the 21st of April 2012, Ibiza Sports Tours are holding their 2nd junior rugby tournament at under 16 level plus this year we have introduced an under 18s competition as well. In association with the local council and the Balearic Rugby Federation, we are aiming to give rugby a great push at grass roots level and there is no better way of doing this than bringing in teams from rugby established nations.

These are 4 team competitions at each level (U18s and U16s) between teams from the Balearic Islands, the Spanish mainland, and the UK although it is open to any country that would like to take part.

The teams will be in groups of 4 a play round robin matches of 25mins, a total of 75mins being played throughout the day.

                       CIUTAT D´EIVISSA - INTERNATIONAL RUGBY TOURNAMENT 2012

9th EDITION CIUDAD D´EIVISSA- INTERNATIONAL RUGBY TOURNAMENT 2012

Our international 15 a side tournament which is to be played on Saturday 12th of May is very popular already for 2012.

This years tournament was our most popular and probably the best edition to date with a record number of teams, and touring parties from 4 different countries.

The format of the competition is 8 teams, being drawn into 2 groups of 4. The teams will play matches of 15 mins, with 2pts for a win, 1pt for a draw. The tournament is played in group format (groups A & B), with the winner of group A playing the winner of group B in the final and group A & B runners-up playing for 3rd place. The teams that finish 3rd and 4th in the group stages will play the plate competition. The maximum number of games played per team throughout the day will be 5.

All rugby tournaments on the island this coming season 2011/12 will be part of the 10th aniversary celebrations of Ibiza Club de Rugby and are expected to be very popular as end of season tours due to the large amount of publicity and invitations that will be delivered. The first 7 deposits we recieve from teams will enter, as this competiton is very popular as an end of season tour.

IBIZA WOMENS RUGBY TOURNAMENT 2012

Saturday 19th May

Women’s rugby as a sport has gone from strength to strength over recent years and participation is currently at an all time high and is one of the fastest growing sports in Europe and there is no reason why women's rugby teams can't go on tour throughout Europe and Worldwide, so to show our support for the women's game and try to help the cause in Ibiza we have created this tournament hoping that 2012 will be the first of what will become an annual rugby event.

All rugby tournaments on the island this coming season 2011/12 will be part of the 10th aniversary celebrations of Ibiza Club de Rugby and are expected to be very popular as end of season tours due to the large amount of publicity and invitations that will be delivered.

IBIZA SEVENS 2012

Sat 2nd -Sun 3rd of June 2012

This is going to be huge!

The IBIZA SEVENS is open to the following categories: U18s, Mens, Ladies and there is also a Veterans 10s competition. All competitons will be played throughout the Saturday with the quarters/semi finals and finals being played on the Sunday. The tournament will close with a gala dinner and will also be the final competition in Ibiza Club de Rugby´s 10th aniversary celebrations.
